I remember first learning about segregation in school and still have this vivid memory of myself walking outside on a hot summer day and wondering why such an awful practice existed! Yet, it gave me such a keen perspective of the world and my innocence o human nature was forever changed. Children should be educated about past horrors towards those of different races, so they can become more caring, empathetic individuals.
